QA-IQ & NIIT Partner To Launch Intel Multi-Core Training
Program In The UK
Skilling developers in leveraging the power of multi-core
technology
July 16, 2007
QA-IQ, the UK’s leading learning solutions provider, and NIIT,
a Global IT Training provider, today announced the UK launch of
a Multi-Core training curriculum, developed jointly by NIIT and
Intel and deployed globally by NIIT.
As part of the alliance, QA-IQ, an industry-leader with over
twenty years’ experience in the field of technical training,
will offer this specialised new training curriculum at its
training centres across the UK.
As the IT industry transitions from single-core processors to
Multi- Core, software developers will need a new set of skills
to design and develop software that harnesses the full
potential of these processors. According to industry estimates,
the global software developer population is expected to grow by
34% to 17.1 million, by 2009. NIIT, in association with QA-IQ
will offer the Intel Multi-Core training curriculum to this
developer community in the UK.
According to Mr. Ashish Basu, President, NIIT, “This unique
alliance brings together Intel’s expertise in Multi-Core
technology and NIIT’s ability to deliver this training to the
software development community, in partnership with QA-IQ in
the UK.”
Speaking on the occasion Vendor Partnership Manager at QA-IQ,
Philip Myers, said,“The launch of the new curriculum will
help us equip a large pool of software developers with the
skills they need to take advantage of the new Multi-Core
processor architecture. This partnership with NIIT will allow
QA-IQ to become a key regional player in the delivery of Intel
training and provide significant benefit to our customers by
adding to our already broad technical curriculum.”
The Multi-Core training curriculum will offer basic and
advanced training—from an initial overview of Multi-Core, to a
working experience of parallel programming, including the
intricacies of multi-threaded programming and performance
optimisation. The curriculum has been designed to empower
developers with key diagnostic skills and specialised threading
tools which will allow rapid deployment of correct and
efficient parallel applications.
This global launch is another important element in Intel’s
over-all initiative to prepare the software industry for
Multi-Core programmers and NIIT’s mission of Global Talent
Development.
